Removals is the premium end of the shelf and the only basket that contains no avoidance credits at all. Biochar locks plant carbon into a mineralised form that persists in soil for centuries; enhanced rock weathering accelerates the natural reaction that converts atmospheric CO2 into bicarbonate and stores it in the ocean for tens of thousands of years. Supply is genuinely scarce and priced accordingly, so availability here is small and refreshed as the desk contracts new issuances. Credits are drawn from Puro.earth, Isometric and Verra rather than from a single supplier.
